Report on reactivation of Apex Club of East Tambaram

Report on the Reactivation of Apex Club of East Tambaram at Casa Grande Riviera Party Hall on 24th March 2019 at 10.30 AM. 

The District Board in their meeting on 15th March 2019 approved the Reactivation of Apex Club of East Tambaram  and transfer of Nine Members from Apex Club of Madras. The date of Inauguration was fixed on 24th March 2019.

Apxn T.V.Mukundan, LG and adviser to the National Board requested the District Governor Apxn R.Prasad to preside over the function and to instal the new President of Apex Club of East Tambaram. Earlier the Projects and Publicity Committee Chairman, Apxn M.Sakthivel and  Ap.Lady .Geetha Senguttuvan were requested to occupy their seats in the dais.

The District Governor called the meeting to order. Ideals were recited by Lifer Apxn S.Kumar and by the members present.  The DG requested all the members present to introduce themselves. The Guests and the prospective Apexians were introduced by their respective Hosts.

The greetings received from our National President, Apxn. Vinod Jakher and from other clubs in India and Apex Global Clubs were read.

The District Governor in his address congratulated the  members who have come forward to Reactivate Apex Club of East Tambaram and stated that this Club would be a Model Club in Apex India. He requested the Club members to revive Apex Club of Central Madras and to try extension of clubs. He then requested the President to be- Apxn.S.M.Govindarajan to rise and installed him as President of Apex Club of East Tambaram. He presented the Presidential Chain to him and requested him to introduce his Board.

Apxn.S.M.Govindarajan in his acceptance speech narrated the events that unfolded into the Reactivation of Apex Club of East Tambaram. He thanked LG Apxn.T.V.Mukundan, Lifer Apxn S.Kumar and the other members who have untiringly made the arrangements like Registration of the Club, opening of Bank Account, arranging the Lapel Pins, Dinner badges and the Presidential Chain which he adorned. He reminisced on the day he joined Apex in 1992 when Lifer Apxn S.Kumar initiated him into Apex as also in 2016 when he joined Apex Madras at his instance. He assured that Apex Club of East Tambaram would be a model Club as desired by DG. He then  introduced his Board.

The President then requested the DG to induct seven new members into Apex Club of East Tambaram. DG and PPCC inducted the members into Apex and requested them to read the Ideals of Apex.

The DG requested LG.Apxn T.V.Mukundan to be the Sergeant at Arms and requested him to conduct the fine  session. Apxn T.V.Mukundan explained about the Fine session in detail and conducted the session. The collection of Rs.1030 would go to the service fund of the club.

The Service Director and President announced two Service Projects for execution. Based on a request from Global Special School for the Mentally Challenged, Cuddalore, for a Refrigerator to store food stuffs for the inmates of the Home, numbering around 60 intellectually Challenged children, Apxn S.Kumar agreed to sponsor  the project and presented a cheque for Rs.10000 which was handed over the Lifer Apxn.V.Senguttuvan, PDG and Ap.Lady Geetha Senguttuvan for executing the project on behalf to Apex Club of East Tambaram

The Second project QUENCH THIRST which is being executed for a third year in a row at Medavakkam was inaugurated by PPCC Apxn M.Sakthivel and the first recipient was  Ap.Lady.Geetha Senguttuvan. The project would benefit hundreds of public daily and would be carried out till the end of summer.

The President requested the PPCC to release the publicity organ of the Club titled EAST TAMBARAM TIMES edited by Lifer Apxn S.Kumar. PPCC congratulated the Editor for the nice newsletter and impressed the need for publicising the activities of Apex. He praised all the members who came forward to  reactivate the Club and all the new members for joining the Apex movement. He recollected his induction by Grand Father of Apex India during Chennapex and the road travelled by him to be the PPCC for the year.

Ap Lady Geetha Senguttuvan in her address congratulated the members of Apex Club of East Tambaram for their efforts in reactivation of the Club. She enumerated the activities of her portfolio and sought support for all the National Board Projects. 

Lifer Apxn Senguttuvan explained about the project of  Apex Club of Cuddalore (a call given by WED) on World Autism Day which is falling on April 2nd this year, when around 120 intellectually challenged children would be assembled at Town Hall, Cuddalore and the meeting would be addressed by eminent personalities in Cuddalore for creating awareness on Autism. He requested support for this noble project.

Apxn Dr.M.S.Nagarajan, Project Director stressed the importance of bringing the people challenged in various  ways like Visually Challenged, physically challenged, intellectually challenged etc to normal life. He thanked Apex Club of Cuddalore for embarking on this noble project and assured all support from the Para Olympic Association to which he is the Asia Pacific Regional Director. He extended help for conducting events like sports and other activities which would give the challenged persons confidence to co exist in the society. He recalled that he used to blindfold his eyes and practice for twelve hours a day which helped him train visually challenged persons like Apxn R.C.Sekar. On a  lighter note he stated that he blindly followed Apxn R.C.Sekar and is now in Apex Club of East Tambaram along with him.

Lifer Apxn V.Senguttuvan explained about the arrangements for conducting the Apex Leadership Training on 21st April 2019 and requested all the members to attend the same. The National President of Apex India Apxn Vinod Jhaker and the National Secretary Apxn L.R.Dhahia would participate in the event. The host club is making all arrangements to make the event successful and would result in imparting Apex knowledge to the members.

Lifer Apxn. S.Kumar, Secretary of the Club proposed a vote of thanks.

After National Anthem, the meeting was adjourned to a delicious lunch arranged by LG Apxn.T.V.Mukundan.
